Supporting education means reducing poverty, creating local perspectives and giving children a future in their home countries. That is the aim of the joint initiative “1000 Schulen für unsere Welt” (1000 schools for our world) from the German Association of Cities and Towns (Deutscher Städtetag), the German County Association (Deutscher Landkreistag) and the German Association of Towns and Municipalities (Deutscher Städte- und Gemeindebund) together with the patron Dr. Ing. Gerd Müller, Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, started today in Berlin.

Cities, counties and communities together with their citizens and the local economy want to make an effective contribution to development cooperation, the fight against the causes of flight and the improvement of life situations in countries of the Global South.

At the invitation of District Administrator Stefan Rößle we traveled to Berlin to attend the kick-off event of the initiative.

Uhola Primary School students – as well as all other students in Kenya – have been diligently engaged in preparation for the national and partly school leaving examinations.
We keep our fingers crossed and wish all candidates much success! Na bahati nzuri!

We are incredibly thrilled that even 23 days after the end of our fundraising tour, so many donations reach us via the GoFundMe-page eintrudeln – amazing!
In fact, our goal is not far away and we can probably begin with the school expansion at the beginning of the next year!

Die Fundraising-Aktion mit dem Fahrrad von München nach Rom war ein voller Erfolg: 10 Tage, knapp 1.200 km, 2 Fahrräder, Vater und Tochter und über 4.000 Euro an Spenden! The municipality of Maihingen had invited to inform about the planned construction to expand the Uhola Primary school. We would like to thank you very much for this as well as for the great interest of the community and the participation of the county commissioner Stefan Rößle!
We are very optimistic after yesterday evening and look forward to future cooperation!

“Wir wollen den Stein ins Rollen bringen”

Wir, Tabitha und Alois Stimpfle, Tochter und Vater und Initiatoren von Uhola Village Foundation e.V. , schwingen uns auf unsere Drahtesel, um von München nach Rom (ca. 1000 km und einige Höhenmeter) zu radeln. Wir möchten die Fahrradtour nutzen, um Spenden für den Schulausbau der Uhola Primary School in Kenia zu sammeln und so “den Stein ins Rollen bringen”. Helfen Sie mit!

WARUM WIR SIE BRAUCHEN

Wir benötigen insgesamt ca. 23.000€ für den Ausbau der Dorfgrundschule Uhola Primary School. Es fehlen noch ca. 15.000€. Das Geld kann allein durch die Beiträge der Vereinsmitglieder nicht aufgebracht werden.

WAS IHRE HILFE BEWIRKT

Der Unterricht für die VorschülerInnen der Uhola Primary School findet momentan auf einem großen Platz im Freien unter Bäumen statt. Durch zwei jeweils knapp 70 m² große Räume soll für die momentan 90 Schulkinder im Alter von zwei bis sechs Jahren eine angemessene Aufenthalts- und Lernatmosphäre geschaffen werden.

WAS UNS MOTIVIERT

Überzeugungen und Glaubensvorstellungen, Haltungen und Verhaltensweisen werden durch frühe Erfahrungen gebildet. Das Vertrauen in sich selbst, etwas bewirken und auch in herausfordernden Situationen selbstständig handeln zu können (Selbstwirksamkeit), wird von Geburt an erlernt. Die Erwartung an die eigene Selbstwirksamkeit ist die Basis für eine Grundhaltung, mit der sowohl Zufriedenheit im Hier und Jetzt als auch Verantwortungsübernahme für die Heimat sowie die Zukunft möglich ist.

Wir hatten am Montag einen Termin bei Engagement Global – Service für Entwicklungsinitiativen in Bonn und haben uns bzgl. weiterer (staatlicher) Förderungsmöglichkeiten beraten lassen. Als noch ganz junger Verein ist das gar nicht so einfach, aber es gibt Wege. Wichtig ist, dass wir unsere Ziele und Projekte weiterhin aktiv verfolgen.

One of our association members had the great idea to wish for donations for Uhola Village Foundation e.V. for his birthday as a present instead of any physical gifts for himself. Fantastic idea! More than 1.500 Euros were raised during one night.
